Aside from asking my students to consider the ideas and experiences of others, I believe that education without expectations is a futile exercise. The master’s degree program in philosophy of education prepares students to teach in humanities and social studies programs in secondary schools and colleges. Mass culture that is meant to repress people and to facilitate ruling elite is being propagated through media and formal education.
