First Day of The Child in a School

First Day of The Child in a School

First of all let me congratulate all the parents who managed to get their little ones admitted into school and ask them how it felt seeing them go to school. How was their first day at school-Happy or sad? I did all the necessary preparation before sending my child to school. Last night I sent my child to bed early so that he can wake up on time. I packed his bag and put in all the stationery he would need like crayons, notebook and pencil box. The all important first-day-of-school outfit was hanging in the closet and the snacks were ready to give to my child the next day. I had made all the arrangements over the past few months to get my little one in school and today the day has come. I got up early and somehow managed to wake up my child and ask to him to get ready for school. I can tell you my experience that it was not easy enough to convince him. I went to drop my child at school and when I said goodbye, he started crying. I was already prepared to face this heartbreaking situation.

Most of the children were either screaming or holding their mom’s or dad’s leg. The teachers were used to this scene every year when the new academic session started and so they told the parents to go back sternly. The situation was pathetic and we, as parents were really helpless, they were not ready to even spend one minute in the classroom. This kind of behavior was natural for the child because it was the first time they were left alone. For some children there was hardly any change because they were used to it because their parents were working and they were often left in the day care centre. They had already learnt to stay away from their parents for a certain period of time. When the bell rang, the teacher entered in the class and we were asked to leave the class. When our kids heard this they started screaming but we were helpless and came out of the class.

When my child came back, still he was sad. I got worried but I diverted his mind by giving him some chocolates. I asked him a few questions like; Did he make friends in school? I also asked him about the teacher whether he liked them or not. ? It was time for my child to begin an educational journey that would last nearly two decades. It’s a general phenomenon that children are excited about their first day of school and some children are a little nervous about it. It is a whole new experience for them, one that their parents should do their best to prepare the child for. It is natural for some children to feel nervous about it. After all, they are being introduced into an entirely new environment. Parents should try their best to have their child see that this experience is one that they will enjoy and that there is really nothing to feel nervous about.
